Notes[ | ]

  • Used mainly early game to get you by if needed, as there are better recipes available with cooking tools such as the Cooking Pot or Cooking Grill.

Meat Comparison[ | ]

  • Charred Meat, Boiled Meat and Grilled Meat are the three main types of meats you can make at the campfire, each having different pluses and minuses.
  • Charred Meat is considerably easier to acquire than the other two, not needing any ingredients or tools other than the Campfire and some animal flesh.
  • On the flip side, it also decreases hydration, meaning at the point in the game when you're likely going to be making a lot of Charred Meat is also going to be around the time you're probably struggling for water.
  • Charred Meat can also be looted from Charcoal Grills found in some houses.
  • Charred Meat is useful to quickly clear out inventory space by forcing yourself to drink water sooner.
