Zombie Dogs are zombie animals found in every biome but more commonly in the Wasteland. Zombie Dogs are hostile and will try to chase and attack the player if provoked or spots the player. Zombie Dogs are much faster than players and will easily outrun a player and catch them, so it is advised to take them down as fast as you can before they can reach you, or get to high ground like a car as they cannot climb it. Zombie Dogs are one of the few zombie enemies that can run during the day. Zombie Dogs can hear, smell, and sense the player better than other Zombies. Unlike other Zombies which attack the second highest block, Zombie Dogs can only attack the lowest block.

Zombie Dogs attack in large packs on every fifth day, but pack can be encountered as early as day two. They will attempt to find the player and once they do they can sense and hunt the player through walls and must be killed to be stopped. However, they cannot sense through walls, so if the player is silent and stays out of sight the horde will sometimes pass by and not attack the player.

Zombie Dogs will not drop any loot upon being killed but can be harvested for Rotting Flesh, Animal HideAnimal Fat and Large Bones.

It is recommended to use a Bone ShivHunting Knife, or Machete when harvesting because it will provide the player with more resources than any other tool or weapon.

A Zombie Dog's attack can also cause bleeding.
