Description[edit | edit source]

A Wrench is a multi-purpose Tool that can be used to repair damaged blocks much like a Stone Axe as well as serving as a melee Weapon and an upgrade tool. It is not easy to craft as you need Forged Steel, which requires the Steel Smithing (Perk), to craft a Wrench. A Wrench cannot be dismantled or used as a source of Combustible fuel, but it can be scrapped and melted in a Forge as a source of iron. It is possible to find a Wrench and can often be found in sinks or kitchen cupboards.

Uses[edit | edit source]

Tool[edit | edit source]

When using a Wrench as a tool it can be used in the following ways;

  • A13 Introduced a "Harvesting" system that allows you to Harvest various things around the world like Air Conditioners, Sedans on the road, Toilets, Sinks, Refrigerators and Ovens. Use left mouse button just like you would normally swing it and it will harvest materials for you. Air Conditioner gives you Short Iron Pipes and Scrap Iron. Cars can give you many different items like Small Engines, Car Lead Battery, Headlights, Leather, Gas Cans, and other resorces. Toilets give you a Short Iron Pipe, and Ovens give you electrical parts, which need to make Minibike Handlebars.
  • Clicking the right mouse button will use a Wrench to repair any block that is behind the cross-hair and within range, provided that the block in question can be repaired. You can also use a Wrench as an upgrade tool in the same way a Stone Axe is used. A Wrench can only be used to upgrade a block if you are carrying the correct items needed to perform the upgrade, if you have these items then clicking the right mouse button on the block will upgrade it. A Wrench is twice as efficient as a Stone Axe when used for upgrading blocks.

Unlocking[edit | edit source]

It doesn't require a schematic or perk to be able to craft and repair the Wrench. However, crafting and repairing the Wrench requires Forged Steel, and the Steel Smithing (Perk) must be unlocked to be able to craft steel. Forged Steel may be found elsewhere, through trading or dismantling objects to then repair or craft a new Wrench.

Repair[edit | edit source]

The condition of a Wrench deteriorates with each use until eventually it will be in an unusable condition. The Wrench may then be repaired with Forged Steel back to working condition.

Scrapping[edit | edit source]

A Wrench can be scrapped for approximately 195 Scrap Iron, or melted down in a forge for 260 units of Iron.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Alpha 13 has changed the Repair Tool to a Wrench for the new harvesting system. But it still looks the same and now has no schematic. It just functions differently now, because it has a special use in the harvesting system.
