==Overview== PAGENAME are a trap used to defend structures by impaling zombies, humans, and animals. PAGENAME are crafted using 20 Wood as shown below. They have 3 stages that each deal 33 damage and have 33 hit points, but anything that steps into the trap will break a stage regardless of how many hit points the trap has. Each stage looks more broken than the last, but has the same stats. PAGENAME can be repaired using 5 Wood per stage. When repaired, all broken stages are fixed at once. ==Crafting== ===Required Items=== ==Failure== The PAGENAME has 3 stages. First being newly crafted and two more in a depreciated state. The 3rd stage of the PAGENAME still can be repaired. Once the 3rd stage damage limit has been reached it will be destroyed disappearing. Stages are as shown. <gallery mode=packed> TrapSpikes01.png TrapSpikesDamage01.png TrapSpikesDamage02.png </gallery> ==Upgrading== PAGENAME can be upgraded to Iron Spikes, which deal more damage and have a higher durability, with 4 Forged Iron. ==Images== <gallery> File:Wood Spikes Trap A20.5.jpg|Wood Spike Traps surrounding a house </gallery> ==Notes== *Spike traps can be helpful when dealing with running zombies, as the spikes slow them down and can dismember them. *Their low cost and crafting requirements make them a good early-game defense, while still being effective in late-game defenses. *For survivors staying in a house, a good strategy is to surround it by a few layers of spikes. ==History== *As of Alpha 4, PAGENAME must be placed on a solid Block. *As of Alpha 15, Wood Spikes became much less practical as their price changed from 4 to 100 wood. Wood Log Spikes (which have since been removed from the game) became the cheap, viable alternative with a material cost of 20 wood. *Originally when repairing they would go through the 5 stages, as of Alpha 15.1 they now directly go to completely healed. *As of Alpha 16, price of wood spikes went from 100 to 20 wood. *As of at least Alpha 18, Wood Spikes now appear to only have three stages of disrepair, always going down one level when hitting a zombie, thus only being able to land three hits on a zombie before breaking. ==See Also== *Iron Spikes de:Holzstachel es:Estacas de madera pl:Drewniane Kolce ru:Деревянные шипы
