Description[edit | edit source]
A Vault Hatch v3 (Powered) is a craftable hatch which only closes when powered by Electricity. This Hatch has to be crafted separately and cannot be upgraded from the Vault Hatch v3. It is crafted using Forged Steel, Springs, Mechanical Parts, and Electrical Parts. The Vault Hatch v3 (Powered) cannot be further upgraded.
Usage[edit | edit source]
The Vault Hatch v3 (Powered) has no 'E' key options seen on other Hatches, thus must be powered with Electricity to be opened and closed. The easiest setup is to run a wire from your power source, through a Switch, to the Hatch. The default 'off' position leaves the Hatch closed, while flipping the Switch 'on' will open the Hatch.
Crafting[edit | edit source]
To craft a Vault Hatch v3 (Powered), first you need to access a Workbench, then either click on the ingredients in your inventory and select “Recipes” then Vault Hatch v3 (Powered) and “Craft”, or search for Vault Hatch v3 (Powered) in your crafting window search bar.
Required Items[edit | edit source]
Repairing[edit | edit source]
You can repair a Vault Hatch v3 (Powered) with up to 36 Forged Steel, depending on damage level, with any repair tool.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- It is useful for making a door to block the top of a ladder (as shown below).
- Can be used to make a window that opens and shuts when needed.
- It is also useful to cover the water source inside your base (usually a hole filled with water).
- The Vault Hatch v3 (Powered) shares the same stats and visuals as the Vault Hatch v3, making the only discernible difference between them the fact that this hatch can (and must) be operated with the use of Electricity.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The 21000 Hit Points reflect the same Cumulative Hit Points as a Vault Hatch v3, making them technically the same durability. While the Vault Hatch v3 will break down into a Vault Hatch v2 after 7000 damage, the Vault Hatch v3 (Powered) will remain the same item until completely destroyed. This is important because if this hatch was part of the linear progression of Hatches, along with it being upgraded from a Vault Hatch v3 directly, it would break down after 7000 damage into a Vault Hatch v3 and lose Electricity capabilities.
