So ThunderSniperSteam found this bug on the wiki where if the picture has a underscore in the name, it will make the item have a lower case letter, therefore breaking any link to the right page. You can see what i mean on the Crafting page, if you scroll down For example, you will see a bunch of red links to pages we actually have, but since the link isn't capitalized correctly, its not sending it to the right page. For example, we have the page MP5 Barrel on the wiki, but when ever you click on the Icon for the MP5 Barrel on crafting table on the MP5 Barrel Mold page, it will send it to a page for MP5 barrel. Notice how "barrel" is not capitalized, this is because the image name is "Mp5_barrel". Every image that doesn't have a underscore in it, like "OilBarrel", works perfectly fine. Im not sure why the underscore is causing the issue, so I figured I'd ask you. If you need me to explain this better than just ask, as its kinda hard to explain. Thanks! --Tuxed (talk) 19:23, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay, i was without internet access for a criminally long time. The pages have been deleted. — Game widow (talk) 21:31, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Hola! I would love to be head of the Spanish wiki for this, I'd even do German, too. The only problem is my knowledge of wiki articles is miniscule and my strengths are really just the languages. Any ideas? — Anderrn (talk) 18:14, 19 August 2013 (EST)

That sounds great then. I'm not even really sure if this is how you message on here. I am looking forward to translating the articles, however, yes, help learning the wiki would be extraordinary! Not even sure how to make the Spanish articles.

Fox's personal section =[]

Hope you had a great New Years! I'm back with yet another question about our site, It would be really nice if we made it so when ever you include a item in a crafting recipe, that item will automatic list that it is used to make that item. Say for example, Bottled Water is in the crafting recipe for Sandstone, it would automatically list the item "Sandstone" under the "Used to make.." portion of the infobox on the Bottled Water. Would something like that even be possible? It would save a lot of time going to each item and adding and subtracting items from the "Used to make.." part. It sounds simple (but its probably not), so that's why I'm coming to you. Thanks — 3ShadowFox3 (talk) 19:50, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Icon to Item Page Glitch[]

Thanks — 3ShadowFox3 (talk) 18:43, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Stats for Blocks[]

I changed the Infobox for items slightly so one may add Structural Integrity, Durability and an Appropriate Tool. As you see i added some Articles for those Stats. I think some testing needs to be done for these informations ^^ - Eichi87 (talk) 10:39, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Another Template[]

Added another template for npc. Templates:Infobox npc I think it might be helpful in the future. - Eichi87 (talk) 14:55, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Indeed! I just noticed it. Great work! — Game widow (talk) 16:00, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

i'm very tired right now ^^ i should go to bed :) thanks for correction ;)

edit TOC[]

Why can't i properly edit the TOC? Version history becomes a little bit confusing ^^ - Eichi87 (talk) 11:22, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

The TOC is automatically generated. But it can be tweaked via css. What would you like changed about it ? — Game widow (talk) 13:13, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
I tried to make sth like the toc here on the left http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Version_history - Eichi87 (talk) 13:28, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks :) - Eichi87 (talk) 13:50, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
For now, this only applies to that one page. I tried to hide everything but the version but so far, no success. One workaround i can suggest if you don't want the subsections under "Alpha 2" to appear is to just make the headings bold (they can also be made to look like section headings with a font color tag, eg. <font color=black>Food</font>), rather than making them actual sections. — Game widow (talk) 13:57, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks anyways :) looks good for now and maybe there wont be that many changes in the next version. we will see :) if it gets to confusing i will change from section to bold/black text. thanks for this suggestion :) - Eichi87 (talk) 21:18, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Russian wiki[]

How come russion wiki is up and german is not? ^^ Anyways I just logged into the russian wiki :) - Eichi87 (talk) 08:12, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, i noticed that too and am following up. I think it was a miscommunication on my part, and for that, i'm sorry, but it's definitely coming! — Game widow (talk) 10:20, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

German wiki[]

Thank you very much :) I was just confused as there are more german articles than russian ^^ but no problem there is no need for rushing it :) - Eichi87 (talk) 15:53, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

I meant to have them both fast-tracked and clearly i didn't emphasize that to the right people. I don't want you to think that all your had work is not being appreciated! — Game widow (talk) 15:55, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Thumbnails[]

Another question ^^ where do you get all those thumbnails? are they packed in some file? - Eichi87 (talk) 15:56, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

My manager was provided with them by the game producers. I've uploaded everything we have. A couple, i made from screenshots :D — Game widow (talk) 15:58, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
ok thanks :) i thought i missed something in the game-folder :)that makes me wonder why the producers didnt include every thumbnail... ^^ or maybe they have weired names... - Eichi87 (talk) 16:02, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
I've wondered the very same thing — Game widow (talk) 16:41, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Requests[]

Didn't really think it'd be worth adding a new section while there was already one here. I'm making a start on some more of the Alpha 6 items such as the Car Lead Battery. Thought I'd take you up on the icons for them. Here's the list so far:

 • Brass Door Knob
 • Car Lead Battery
 • Tungsten Door

I've yet to come across a recipe for the tungsten door, but I may have a peek into the XML file and see what it requires.

Adminship[]

Thank you very much, I would love to become an admin on here.

Great, thanks OOShinigamiOo (talk) 20:38, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Claim[]

Did click and fill in. it was buggy and said only "<wiki_claim_question_0>" to 3. after filling in it said successful but button is still there.

I've reported the error and approved both your claims. Thanks! — Game widow (talk) 17:41, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Wording issue[]

Okay i got a lirrle wording issue here. There are two new types of planks. not one as i thought. the first is planks4, a nice red painted and clean wood planks block. the second is barn wood, a dirty and used but also red painted wood planks block. first is crafted with usual planks. second is crafted using old planks.
At first i thought they were the same but they are not. first may also be called "small rich wood". i simply doesn't know what "rich wood" is. i don't even find anything usefull on the interwebs... could you explain to me what "small rich wood" could be as i would like to understand this, also for the german wiki ;). - Eichi87 (talk) 21:00, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

You're not wrong. The wording is pretty poor. I'll try to get some sort of clarification — Game widow (talk) 00:34, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
Ok thanks :) For now i changed it back to "small rich wood planks" and "small rich wood stairs" and "red barn wood" (i think this is accurate as it is used in barns ^^). - Eichi87 (talk) 17:44, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Wiki Tutorials[]

Hi I think it would help a lot if you could do some extra tutorials on how to use wiki. For example the bit I am strangling at the moment is sortable tables. I have no idea how to create one and when I tried to edit one to learn it looks like Gibberish to me and didn't help at all in understanding how tables work.Feniks1984PL (talk) 10:38, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi there, sorry for the late reply but i've been away on vacation. Now that i'm back, i'll see what i can do :) — Game widow (talk) 11:43, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
I think 1 hour late isn't too bad :) Fox explaid a bit on my talk page if you want to expand on what he said and put it all togather in one tutorial so it's avaliable for everyone that would be great. Feniks1984PL (talk) 11:49, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
LOL, i had not actually checked the date, as i'm playing catch-up this morning, but certainly! — Game widow (talk) 11:50, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
OK, I've done a rudimentary help page about tables here. Feel free to add to it. — Game widow (talk) 16:56, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Captcha Images of Cats[]

Hi GameWidow, been adding a fair amount of content and I came across a bug just before Alpha 6 was released in it's beta state. I haven't seen any other mention so I wanted to make sure people knew it was possible. I've already messaged Fox about this and he wasn't sure what I meant and directed me to you. I was edited the hornet page and as I managed to capture this rare bug on video I uploaded it to YouTube and added a link, as such the captcha for images of cats came up but it continued to do so even after I clicked only the cats several times! The images also get cropped in half for some reason, edit an article and add a YouTube link to see what I mean. Thanks! ThunderSniperSteam (talk) 11:03, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

I've managed to finish the edit now, but for some reason before it just kept asking me to do the captcha over and over! I think it needs a look though, the images are half cut off as I said. Thanks! ThunderSniperSteam (talk) 11:26, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

I can confirm that I am receiving the captcha even when logged in, it mentions that the reason is because of the external links. I don't want to embed the video as it may take up excessive room on the page, a link seem better as a user can read the description prior to looking. ThunderSniperSteam (talk) 20:01, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

OK, I've reported the captcha issue to our tech team, mentioning both that it comes up even for logged in users (which it should not) and that the pop-up images are too far up the screen and cut off. cheers — Game widow (talk) 20:06, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
The tech team has confirmed that the captcha is working as designed. Were you by any chance using an adblocker? However, i've moved the pop-up image position, so that should no longer be an issue. — Game widow (talk) 17:19, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
I believe I have got an ad-blocker installed, however, I had a quick read through the source code and it appears most of the pop-up is done through javascript, simply moving an absolute div element. Ad Blocker will have no effect on this as my settings have no effect on JavaScript. ThunderSniperSteam (talk) 19:25, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Sorry to be a pain, I popped this question to Fox but I've not had a reply yet. I've been updating the wiki with content from the Alpha 6 release such as Bullet Casing. When the image is used in the crafting table it links to the wrong page, one that doesn't exist. I'm not sure how to change this, can you give me any pointers? Thanks! -- Just got an answer! Thanks.

Crafting Page[]

I've had a look at the crafting page and that table is all over the place! It's listing various uncraftable items as being craftable! For example, look at Copper Ore in that table, it says you can make Copper Ore with one Copper Ore? That makes sense, upon further inspection it appears to referencing the crafting table on the Copper Ore page which is showing how to obtain a Copper Ingot. I think the Crafting page needs a rework as it seems to be looking at the wrong parts of the crafting table on any page, it should be looking at the resulting crafted item and taking the ingredients into account. ThunderSniperSteam (talk) 11:33, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

I've left a note about this on your personal talk page, but essentially, that table is messed up because people are using the wrong template. — Game widow (talk) 20:07, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Uploading Images[]

Hi Game widow, noticed a lot of the images you're adding all look like they been taken directly from the game's asset library. Just so I don't cause you loads more work adding the same images I have after I've done a pretty bad job on them, how exactly do you rip them from the game? I'm going to have a look in the game's folder and I really hope I don't find them there! I'll feel pretty stupid if so! Thanks. ThunderSniperSteam (talk) 11:57, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

I do in fact get them from the developers, so I don't have to rip them from the game. They just are not always timely about it. — Game widow (talk) 12:51, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Ah, I see. In that case, I'll maintain my uploading and when the devs get back to you we'll have some better quality images. ThunderSniperSteam (talk) 20:17, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Missing Icons[]

 • Iron Wall (have one from ThunderSniper but that's a bit stretched so an original from the devs would be useful. Unless there is a file on and it simply needs replacing.)
 • Brass Car Radiator (Need to make the page)

Thunder Sniper's Personal Section[]

Hey Game widow,

Just had a couple of queries I'd like to pass your way, already asked Fox and he sent me your way.

 1. Is there a way we can get a category that checks pages for any broken links? I'm already watching the ones that have broken files links and that need images but there isn't a category I've found that deals with broken links. So if any link on a page even in a crafting grid is broken it alerts us.
 2. I'm sure you guys have thought of this, but we have a crafting template which is incredibly useful. However, we now have a forge and I think it would be advantageous to have a Forge crafting grid if possible for the future as I doubt the Forge is going to stay solely on creating just weaponry and ingots! Let me know what you think or if it's too early for this.
For broken page links, see Special:WantedPages, and for broken file links, see Category:Pages_with_broken_file_links. As for the forge, is that grid a different size or something ? — Game widow (talk) 03:14, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
The forge crafting grid is actually pretty significantly different, here's an image as an example, it's really a grid, it's more different sets of slots. (Removed due to privacy issues, turns out people could see ALL of my images which are not particularly meant for other people to see, Dankeschon Syphon) — Kuro(User:OOShinigamiOo)[ADMIN] (talk) 05:33, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
I see ... OK, I'll see what i can do — Game widow (talk) 12:33, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Excellent, thanks, I've added the Wanted Pages to my section. Look forward to seeing this as I've noticed a lot of people needing help with the Forge, I uploaded a basic tutorial that's garnered over 1,000 views. A visual representation on the wiki to help show how to forge specific items would be vastly helpful, especially to new users! Thunder Sniper (talk) 14:17, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
