Description[edit | edit source]

A Steel Shovel is a Tool that can be used to dig into the earth, creating holes in the ground and harvesting resources in the process. It can also serve as a melee Weapon in a pinch.

Uses[edit | edit source]

As a Tool[edit | edit source]

  • Harvesting. Clicking the left mouse button will use the Steel Shovel, hitting any item or block that is targeted by the crosshairs and within range. This will allow you to dig into the earth, harvesting Resources with each use. Shovels are the most effective tools for harvesting soft earth-based blocks such as Clay Soil, Sand, Snow, or Forest Ground. Shovels also are the most effective tools for harvesting Cobblestone Rocks and Concrete Mix from the blue pallets found in various POI.

As a Weapon[edit | edit source]

  • When used in combat, a Steel Shovel is a very ineffective, short range Melee weapon. There are many weapons that are easily obtained that outperform the Steel Shovel, so set out to acquire one as soon as possible.

Repair[edit | edit source]

The Durability of a Steel Shovel deteriorates with each use. When its Durability reaches zero, it becomes unusable until repaired. Repairing a Steel Shovel requires 1 Forged Steel. Repairing restores its Durability back to Max Durability.

Scrapping[edit | edit source]

A Steel Shovel can be scrapped, yielding Scrap Iron.
