Schematics and Recipes are consumable items that can be found as loot, commonly in bookcases or purchased from Traders.

Description[edit | edit source]

Using a Schematic will unlock the relevant recipe, allowing the crafting of various items without the required Perks. Schematic share their item image with the item they unlock, albeit with a small book icon at the top left. Once a Schematic has been learned, the icon of the lock will be removed.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Schematics only allow the crafting of certain items and have no bearing on the Quality of the crafted item as that is based on the skill level of the character.
  • All items that have the quality grading associated with them cannot be crafted past Quality 5.
  • Some perk books can act like schematics or recipes - unlock a recipe.

Patch version Changes
Alpha 11 All firearms now require schematics or recipe books to craft.
Alpha 12 Converted most recipe books to schematics.
Alpha 13 Added various weapon schematics.
Alpha 14 Replaced various schematics with perks.
Alpha 17 Schematics can no longer be learned and are required to be present in one's inventory to craft the item.
Alpha 18 Re-implemented learnable item schematics. Added schematics for nearly every craftable item, including those previously requiring perks. Added food schematics ("recipes").
