Description[ | ]

Removed in Alpha 20, use the extremely customizable Concrete Shapes to place concrete blocks instead.

Rebar Frames is a craftable Building Material. It is very weak and has similar strength to Wood Frames and is fairly expensive considering the resources needed to craft it. This is countered however by how common Rebar Frames can be found in dropped supply crates. It can be upgraded into Reinforced Concrete Blocks. To do so, 20 Concrete Mix are needed for every Rebar Frames.

It is upgraded, with a tool, initially to a Concrete Form mold using Wood. Then Concrete Mix is used to upgrade the Concrete Form to Poured Concrete. After some time the initially wet concrete dries, the wooden mold pops out and Reinforced Concrete Blocks are obtained. Reinforced Concrete is also stronger than its wet form.

Rebar Frames can be melted in a Forge as a source of iron and scrapped in the crafting grid to produce Iron.

Block Varieties

The Rebar Frames comes in a number of different varieties, each with the same durability and features. The only difference is the shape and hit boxes, which may allow you to shoot through them or walk up them. There are rare cases, when a variety has different properties, see Notes below for specific information.

Notes[]

  1. The pillar upgrades directly to Poured Concrete Pillar 100, and bypasses the Concrete Form phase.

Item Required Materials

Upgrade Process[ | ]

Once the player has a required tool and upgrade materials they can begin the upgrade process. The chosen tool is equipped and the materials are left in the bag or on the tool belt. Approach the Rebar Frames and right click on it with the chosen tool and an icon will appear showing the current upgrade status. To fully upgrade a Rebar Frame to Reinforced Concrete you have to run through 2 stages.

  • The upgrade materials used will not be taken from the inventory until the upgrade is complete.

Scrapping[ | ]

A Rebar Frames can be scrapped to produce Iron.

Forge[ | ]

A Rebar Frames can be placed into the forge and will be melted down into Iron. Each Rebar Frames will produce 5 units of Iron.

History[ | ]

In versions prior to Alpha 14, the book Set In Concrete unlocked the recipe. After the implementation of Skill Trees in Alpha 14, the recipe is only available after unlocking Concrete Mixing.

They have been removed in version Alpha 20.
