Description[edit | edit source]

Rebar Frames is a craftable Building Material. It is very weak and has similar strength to Wood Frames and is fairly expensive considering the resources needed to craft it. This is countered however by how common Rebar Frames can be found in dropped supply crates. It can be upgraded into Reinforced Concrete Blocks. To do so,10 Wood and 10 Concrete Mix are needed for every Rebar Frames.

It is upgraded, with a tool, initially to a Concrete Form mold using Wood. Then Concrete Mix is used to upgrade the Concrete Form to Poured Concrete. After some time the initially wet concrete dries, the wooden mold pops out and Reinforced Concrete Blocks are obtained. Reinforced Concrete is also stronger than its wet form.

Rebar Frames can be melted in a Forge as a source of iron and scrapped in the crafting grid to produce Scrap Iron.

Block Varieties

The Rebar Frames comes in a number of different varieties, each with the same durability and features. The only difference is the shape and hit boxes, which may allow you to shoot through them or walk up them. There are rare cases, when a variety has different properties, see Notes below for specific information.

Variety Up-gradable Degradable Craftable

RebarFrameCNRInside.png Rebar Frames Inside Corner Yes No Yes
RebarFramePillar100.png Rebar Frames Pillar 100 [BVL 1] Yes No Yes
RebarFrameRamp.png Rebar Frames Ramp Yes No Yes

Notes[edit source]

  1. The pillar upgrades directly to Poured Concrete Pillar 100, and bypasses the Concrete Form phase.

Unlocking[edit | edit source]

In versions prior to Alpha 14, the book Set In Concrete unlocked the recipe. After the implementation of Skill Trees in Alpha 14, the recipe is only available after unlocking Concrete Mixing.

Prior to forging a Rebar Frames, you must first smelt iron and clay in a forge and have an Anvil placed in the appropriate tool slot of the forge.

For a complete understanding of how to use the forge for this and other recipes, see the 'Usage' section of the forge page.

Upgrading[edit | edit source]

Required Items[edit | edit source]

It is possible to upgrade Rebar Frames into Reinforced Concrete Blocks and one of these items will be required to do so.

Tool[edit source]

The following tools can be used to upgrade and repair Rebar Frames.

Extension:DynamicPageList (DPL), version 3.3.3: Warning: No results.

Upgrade Materials[edit | edit source]

  • Stage 1 :Woodresource.png Wood x10
  • Stage 2 :ConcreteMix.png Concrete Mix x10
  • Stage 3 : Approximately 15 Time units.

Recipes

The following recipes require a Rebar Frames:

Item Required Materials
ConcreteFormBlock.png Concrete Form Blocks RebarFrame.png Rebar Frames *1, Woodresource.png Wood *10
PouredConcreteBlock.png Poured Reinforced Concrete Blocks RebarFrame.png Rebar Frames *1, ConcreteMix.png Concrete Mix *10

Upgrade Process[edit | edit source]

Once the player has a required tool and upgrade materials they can begin the upgrade process. The chosen tool is equipped and the materials are left in the bag or on the tool belt. Approach the Rebar Frames and right click on it with the chosen tool and an icon will appear showing the current upgrade status. To fully upgrade a Rebar Frame to Reinforced Concrete you have to run through 2 stages.

  • The upgrade materials used will not be taken from the inventory until the upgrade is complete.

Scrapping[edit | edit source]

A Rebar Frames can be scrapped to produce Scrap Iron.

Forge[edit | edit source]

A Rebar Frames can be placed into the forge and will be melted down into iron. Each Rebar Frames will produce 5 units of iron.
