An item's quality determines it's effectiveness and how long it will last before becoming broken. Weapons of higher quality deal more damage and tools of higher quality perform their function quicker, i.e. do higher block damage.
Each time an item is repaired, the quality drops at a specified rate. Therefore, eventually all items will need to be replaced.
Item quality is indicated by both a color-code for quick reference and a numerical value as a precise measure of quality. The measure for quality ranges from 1 - 600 and is organized into the following levels:
Color | Quality | Item Level |
---|---|---|
Grey | Broken | 0 |
Brown | Faulty | 1 - 100 |
Orange | Poor | 101 - 200 |
Yellow | Good | 201 - 300 |
Green | Fine | 301 - 400 |
Blue | Great | 401 - 500 |
Magenta | Flawless | 501+ |
Notes[ | ]
- The quality of crafted items depends on the appropriate skill level associated with the item being crafted. Each skill has a progression table that indicates the quality for a given levels.
- Different crafting skills improve the quality of different types of crafted items.
- The quality of scavenged items depends on the scavenging skill.
- For multipart items, such as weapons, the durability of the weapon is the average of all of its parts[1].
