Description[edit | edit source]

A Pistol is a short to medium range semi automatic side arm which can be found throughout the world in 7 Days to Die, such as Gun Safes, Infected Police Officers, and Toilets. It can also be crafted using the correct Gun Parts.

The Pistol requires 9mm Bullets and will hold 15 cartridges. It reloads automatically, if the correct Ammunition is available. It can also be reloaded manually at any time using the reload key (default key R).

Combat[edit | edit source]

The Pistol is very effective when used to shoot zombies in the head, which is easiest accomplished at short range. It takes one shot to the head to kill a normal Zombie and two shots to kill a bloated Zombie. It takes several shots to the body or limbs.

It is a very effective firearm for stealthily taking out single zombies, as it has a nominally short noise range of 15 meters. As long as no zombies are within that range, one could use it while looting more populated areas, though it is still risky.

Gun Parts[edit source]

Each part of the Pistol can supply a different attribute. It is unknown if the value supplied is based on the quality of the component or the overall quality of the Pistol. Pistol does not really have a durability, each of its component parts have a durability and when any of them fail then the whole Pistol fails.

The values will be adjusted by the players Action Skill Group level and other skills and perks.

  1. Accuracy has changed in Alpha 16, it is unsure how this now affects the accuracy of the weapon

With some weapons the amount of damage take to the weapon itself can change with the quality of the weapon. It is also possible for the damage taken to go up, simulating that it is a finely tuned weapon that can be put out of action quicker. For a Pistol the following describes the minimum and maximum number of uses of the weapon, based on the quality, before it will need to be repaired.

Uses:
Minimum Quality (1): 2000 / 10 = 200
Maximum Quality (600): 5000 / 10 = 500

Crafting[edit | edit source]

Assemble[edit | edit source]

A Pistol can be Assembled by clicking on any gun part and clicking Assemble. This will break the weapon down into its component state, and display the parts in the main crafting screen. The player can then remove the parts and place them into their bag or tool belt.

Players who have read the appropriate Recipe Book can also use this method to upgrade gun parts in the weapon to a higher quality. To do so, remove the desired gun part from the Assemble screen, and replace it with a similar gun part of higher quality. Note that this action must be done in a specific order. You can drag the NEW gun part onto the Assemble screen and "swap" it with the OLD one.

Repair[edit | edit source]

The condition of a Pistol deteriorates with each use until eventually it will stop working and will need to be repaired. This can be done using a Repair Kit. Each Repair Kit restores some Durability.

Other Uses[edit | edit source]

Forging[edit | edit source]

The player can place a Pistol into a Forge and it will be melted down into iron. Each Pistol will produce 2.1 lbs of iron.

Scrapping[edit | edit source]

A Pistol can be scrapped by clicking on it and selecting "scrap'.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The model used in the game closely resembles the Beretta M92.
  • Pistols may be occasionally be found in Toilets, oddly.
