Alpha 18 Content Update[edit | edit source]
!!!! This page is under construction and this text will vanish when all the tools have been updated !!! Entries in both tables need updating and systematically will be performed !!!
Description[edit | edit source]
Multiple items have dual purposes, as most tools can be used as weapons in a pinch and vice-versa. Although an emphasis has been made so that tools are less effective when attacking Enemies, which is also reflected in some mods for the tools (for example a FireMans Axe Mod increases Block Damage, but decreases Enemy Damage). Items also vary on how effective they are for each task. Using the wrong tool will decrease the players Stamina faster, while not giving as many resources as with the proper tool.
Construction Tools[edit | edit source]
Construction (or Repair) tools are a subset of all the tools capable of repairing and upgrading blocks and placeables. Using LMB of the mouse performs an attack (melee or ranged), trying to destroy a block or placable, while the RMB of the mouse will try to either repair or upgrade it. Repairing is done on damaged blocks and placeables, while upgrading on undamaged and only those that can be upgraded. For instance, Wood Spikes can be upgraded to Scrap Iron Spike, but the latter cannot be upgraded further. Similarly, a Wooden Door can be upgraded 2 times to be strengthened with wooden and metal boards, before it changes into an Iron Door. Upgraded versions always have higher durability before being destroyed and sometimes may have different type of material they are made of.
Below table lists all available Construction Tools.

Butchering Tools[edit | edit source]
Special equipment used for obtaining additional resources from animal and human remains (the latter also in body bags) is better described at their dedicated Butchering page.
Salvaging Tools[edit | edit source]
Special equipment used for obtaining additional resources from various mechanical and electrical objects is better described at their dedicated Salvaging page.
Harvesting Tools[edit | edit source]
Special equipment used for obtaining basic resources from all objects by attacking it. There are dedicated tools for harvesting wood, earth, stone and metal. More information can be found at their dedicated Harvesting page.
Special Tools[edit | edit source]
In this category there are special tools that perform specific functions. As they cannot be used in combat or any type of harvesting, below is a list with their functions:
- Bucket - Used for picking up a block of water, chaging into Bucket of Water. LMB of the mouse picks up water, while RMB puts it down.
- Paint Brush - Used for painting blocks with textures. With this tool equipped, when pressing and holding R (reload button) player can choose to open the texture selection window, as well as selecting a texture from the block the crosshair is pointing at. To change the texture of an object/block, Paint needs to be present in the inventory. LMB of the mouse paints the object/block, while RMB will clear the texture to its original.
- Wire Tool - Used for adding wires between electrical devices. This allows linking various triggers, switches and machines together. LMB of the mouse picks the source for the wire and chooses the destination. RMB clears a device of wires connected to it.
Tool Summary[edit | edit source]
Table below lists all important information for all of the tools, including:
- How effective the tools are against various types of blocks
- What Attribute contributes for the particular tool
- Base enemy (Entity) damage and block damage
- Enemy and block range (when attacking or using the tool)
- Required material for repairs.
Damage, durability, attack/usage speed and Stamina usage varies from the base value presented here due to Alpha 18 introducing randomization in stats. Additionally, damage increases on higher tiers, therefore making all of these item attributes difficult to narrow to single values. Apart from that, the crafting costs and the amount of Mod Slots increase on higher tiers.
