Description[edit | edit source]

Infection may be contracted if you are hit by a Zombie. It has three stages of progression which will eventually lead to death if not treated. Getting further hits by zombies will increase the infection level.

It is possible to treat an Infection with the use of Antibiotics. It is easier to contract if you have low health than if you have high health.

Infection Stages[edit | edit source]

Infection is a negative buff that is part of the four stages of infection. Infection will progress through the following three stages.

Stage 1[edit | edit source]

You are infected, but have no negative affects applied. You can use any of these items to heal you: Antibiotics, Jar of Honey, and Herbal Antibiotics.

  • Duration 1 hour in real time, or up to 14% of the gauge.

Stage 2[edit | edit source]

Your Infection is progressing, use Antibiotics to heal.

  • -25% Stamina recovery.
  • -0.25 Wellness every 100 in-game seconds.
  • 25 Entity Damage every 2100 in-game seconds.
  • Duration 3 hours in real time, or up to 57% of the gauge.

Stage 3[edit | edit source]

You are dying, use Antibiotics to heal the Infection.

  • -35% Stamina recovery.
  • -0.25 Wellness every 100 in-game seconds.
  • 25 Entity Damage every 800 in-game seconds.
  • -1 to all attributes.
  • Duration 3 hours in real time, or up to 100% of the gauge.

Death[edit | edit source]

If you do not use Antibiotics by the end of stage three you will die.

Note: Damage is different from health, damage can be mitigated by armour or other effect, health is a direct effect on the characters health.

Healing[edit | edit source]

It is possible to treat Infection by using various infection-curing items. The infection is slowly cured by a cure buff (needs a wiki page), given by these items:

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • When dying from the infection, a player does not become a zombie. When returning to the corpse only the items dropped on death remain.
