Overview[ | ]

Explosive Charge is a craftable item. It can be used to destroy blocks. It is recommended that you are far away before you detonate it because Explosive Charge has splash damage. Shooting it or a Pipe Bomb explosion will detonate it. A Crossbow doesn't trigger the explosion(unless you use exploding crossbow bolt). It can also be hit with a torch. However this will injure or kill the player who lit it. Explosive Charge can destroy blocks in a 5 block diameter sphere (depending on durability of blocks).

The explosion will detonate Sedans, Gas Barrels, and other blocks of Explosive Charge, triggering a chain reaction that can demolish large structures.

Lock Cracking[ | ]

Since Explosive Charge has a block damage of 3000, and Wall Safes and Gun Safes are locked with a layer of 2500 durability, the explosion from a block of Explosive Charge can be used to unlock a locked safe. If left alone after looting, more loot will respawn in the unlocked safe, depending on server settings.

Notes[ | ]

  • Since Alpha 9, you need Gun Powder Charge (not Gun Powder) in place to craft TNT.
  • (Alpha 2) The explosion leaves 50% of the destroyed blocks behind.
  • In Stone, the Explosive Charge makes a hole of 3x3 blocks and it damages some of the adjacent blocks.
  • Explosive Charge is great for clearing out mines rapidly if you have the extra materials. Just use caution not to collapse the roof on top of you. Doing this may attract a large number of zombies.
  • As of A13 the Gun Powder Charge is no longer necessary and has been removed from the game.
