Chemicals is an item Group.
Groups were introduced in the Alpha 8.2 and at this time all items were assigned to the new groups. This placed similar items together and allowed for the recipe list to be reorganized into the new groups for better sorting of the recipes. In addition to this each group was assigned a color which can be seen displayed as a background to the icon of an item in the inventory. Items in the group Chemicals have a yellow background and currently share this color with the Medicine Group.
