Description[edit | edit source]

A Biome is a part of the world of 7 Days to Die with certain characteristics, such as climate, resources and types of zombies. There are eight Biomes in 7 Days to Die, which differ vastly from each other.

When a survivor is looking for a place to build a home/fort/base, he should consider the pros and cons of each biome, as they will determine the difficulty by zombie spawns and available resources.

Biome Types[edit | edit source]

There are currently eight Biomes in both Navezgane and Random World Generation.

Desert[edit | edit source]

There are many Saguaros and Yucca Plants. It is easy to accidentally step on small spiky plants that will inflict damage. Water is scarce and temperatures are high. There are patches of dirt everywhere, which are generally found near boulders. On the map this biome is depicted in a sand colour.

Plains[edit | edit source]

This biome contains rolling hills and grass, with few trees. They have the same small spiky Desert plants that can cause damage, but no Yucca Plants. On the map this biome is depicted in an yellow-brown colour.

Forest[edit | edit source]

Trees and water are plentiful in this biome, making this a fair choice for a permanent base. This biome contains mainly Maple Trees, small bushes and green grass. There are patches of clay everywhere generally with boulders. It is depicted on the map in a lighter green colour.

Pine Forest[edit | edit source]

This biome is similar to the Forest. However, there are Pine Trees instead of Maple Trees, the terrain is hillier, and the temperature is slightly colder. There are patches of clay everywhere generally with boulders. This biome is depicted on the map as a darker green.

Snowy Forest[edit | edit source]

This biome is very cold; warm clothing and/or fire is needed for survival. The tough Frozen Lumberjack only shows up in this biome, where it is a common enemy that can drop rare tools. This biome is white on the map.

Burnt Forest[edit | edit source]

This Forest has been burned up completely and is still smoldering. Therefor it is quite hot and clothing should be chosen accordingly. The map has this biome in a dark grey.

Wasteland[edit | edit source]

This devastated biome is short on natural resources. Almost no plants grow here, it is however possible to plant trees and other plants. Zombie Dogs are abundant in this biome. However, this inhospitability is offset by the biome's great loot. The ground is mostly stone with patches of dirt. This biome is coloured almost the same as the Burnt Forest, but is slightly redder. Also is filled with landmines

Nuclear Fallout Zone[edit | edit source]

Boundary of the playable zone; prolonged exposure to this biome will rapidly kill survivors.
