Description[edit | edit source]

The AK-47 Assault Rifle is a type of ranged weapon (Rifle Class) in 7 Days to Die. It's parts can be looted from Supply Crates, Shotgun Messiah Crates, Munitions Boxes, and Feral Zombies. It can only be assembled after reading the AK-47 Schematic. The Ak 47 uses 7.62mm Bullets as Ammunition and can hold 30 cartridges. It has a Durability of 1-600 depending on the quality of its parts. An AK-47 can reload automatically or be manually reloaded by pressing the reload key (default key 'R').

Unlocking[edit | edit source]

Before being able to assemble a AK-47, the recipe must be unlocked. This is done by reading the required recipe book.

Combat[edit | edit source]

The AK-47 is a short to medium ranged automatic firearm. Due to its large magazine and fully automatic fire comparable to the SMG, and damage per shot comparable to the Hunting Rifle and Sniper Rifle, it has the highest damage output potential out of all the conventional firearms. This lends the AK 47 well to being the player's backup gun to defend against surprise threats while scavenging or collecting resources. However, due to the AK-47 having a lower head shot multiplier than other 7.62mm rifles, it is less effective in situations where time-to-kill is not as important as conservation of ammunition, such as in base defense.

There is a 10% chance the AK will inflict a critical hit on a target (CritGunAK47 buff), which reduces the target's health by 150.

Gun Parts[edit source]

Each part of the Ak 47 can supply a different attribute. It is unknown if the value supplied is based on the quality of the component or the overall quality of the Ak 47. Ak 47 does not really have a durability, each of its component parts have a durability and when any of them fail then the whole Ak 47 fails.

The values will be adjusted by the players Action Skill Group level and other skills and perks.

  1. Accuracy has changed in Alpha 16, it is unsure how this now affects the accuracy of the weapon

With some weapons the amount of damage take to the weapon itself can change with the quality of the weapon. It is also possible for the damage taken to go up, simulating that it is a finely tuned weapon that can be put out of action quicker. For a Ak 47 the following describes the minimum and maximum number of uses of the weapon, based on the quality, before it will need to be repaired.

Uses:
Minimum Quality (1): 5600 / 12 = 466
Almost Maximum (599): 13986 / 15 = 932
Maximum Quality (600): 14000 / 16 = 875

Crafting Recipe[edit | edit source]

If you have the required items, you can click on the gun and click "Assemble" to add the items to the gun.

Repair[edit | edit source]

The condition of an AK-47 deteriorates with each use until it will eventually stop working and will need to be repaired. This can be done using a Repair Kit.

  • As of A13, all weapons and tools degrade slowly with use. If you have a quality 600 AK-47 and you repair it with Repair Kits, it may or may not still be a 600 quality, but may deteriorate to a lower quality instead, depending on if an adequate number of skill points have been invested in the Gun Smithing Skill.

Scrapping[edit | edit source]

An AK-47 can be scrapped into Scrap Iron.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • An AK-47, like all weapons, can destroy blocks and other structures.
  • The gun represented in game is not technically an AK-47; it is the later folding-stocked variant, the AKMS.
  • The stock is shown in an impossible position, both folded forward and with the shoulder pad deployed.
  • In real life, the AK-47 is chambered in 7.62x39mm ammunition, however, the game strongly implies 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition is being used.
