Description[ | ]

The AK-47 Assault Rifle is a type of ranged weapon (Rifle Class) in 7 Days to Die. It's parts can be looted from Supply Crates, Shotgun Messiah Crates, Munitions Boxes, and Feral Zombies. It can only be assembled after reaching rank 3 in Advanced Engineering (Perk). The Ak 47 uses 7.62mm Bullets as Ammunition and can hold 30 cartridges. An AK-47 can reload automatically or be manually reloaded by pressing the reload key (default key 'R').

Combat[ | ]

The AK-47 is a short to medium ranged automatic firearm. Due to its large magazine and fully automatic fire comparable to the SMG, and damage per shot comparable to the Hunting Rifle and Sniper Rifle, it has the highest damage output potential out of all the conventional firearms. This lends the AK 47 well to being the player's backup gun to defend against surprise threats while scavenging or collecting resources. However, due to the AK-47 having a lower head shot multiplier than other 7.62mm rifles, it is less effective in situations where time-to-kill is not as important as conservation of ammunition, such as in base defense.

There is a 10% chance the AK will inflict a critical hit on a target (CritGunAK47 buff), which reduces the target's health by 150.

The recipe above contains the Resources needed to craft the AK-47 Machine Gun for each level of the Advanced Engineering (Perk) Perk.
A higher level in the associated perk will decrease the crafting cost, saving resources.

Repair[ | ]

The condition of an AK-47 deteriorates with each use until it will eventually stop working and will need to be repaired. This can be done using a Repair Kit.

Scrapping[ | ]

An AK-47 can be scrapped into Scrap Iron.

Notes[ | ]

  • An AK-47, like all weapons, can destroy blocks and other structures.
  • The gun represented in game is not technically an AK-47; it is the later folding-stocked variant, the AKMS.
  • The stock is shown in an impossible position, both folded forward and with the shoulder pad deployed.
  • In real life, the AK-47 is chambered in 7.62x39mm ammunition, however, the game strongly implies 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition is being used.
