I've noticed that lots of page have detailed guidelines on how to craft, scrap or assemble items, e.g. 9mm Bullet, Pistol and many others. Is this really needed in every article?

:I think it is needed in at least almost every article. If anyone not familiar with this wiki wants to know something about, lets say the pistol he shouldnt be obligated to navigate through the wiki to find all the information there is to the item. - Eichi87 (talk) 11:47, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

Crafting Iron Chest Armor(and I'm sure this also applies to other iron armor)[]

Hi. I am trying to craft iron chest armor, but I can't figure out why the "Craft" button doesn't show up. I found the schematic for it in an air drop box, and I read it immediately. I then went on to gather all of the required materials(30 forged iron, 5 leather). It even tells me I have all that is needed. There is no special tool listed as a requirement. I've tried using my my forge, my campfire, and simply my backpack. I've looked to see if a workbench or other crafting tool is required, and none are listed anywhere. The page on this wiki doesn't mention anything either. Why can't I craft it? Thanks.

You need a Workbench. Actually, if you look at the recipe in the crafting window, there's a small workbench icon next to the iron chest armor record. Not sure if this is still relevant since there was no signature. --N21lv (talk) 09:44, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

Wiki Terminology Questions[]

 • New contributor here. :-) Some Wiki pages start with a section named Overview, others with a Description. Which one is correct?
I'd personally dump that header altogether and leave the description headerless, since otherwise it looks really ugly in small articles that rarely span over a single screen (that is, the vast majority of articles on this Wiki). --N21lv (talk) 09:44, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
 • I've begun updating several Wiki pages on the subject of "taking the object apart". The Wiki currently seems to prefer to name this mechanic "Harvesting". However, I just noticed that you have a line in the InfoBox group called "Dismantleable", and also a brief Wiki page about Dismantling. First, I'd like to request that we all agree on a single term for this mechanic; and secondly, I'd like to vote for "dismantling". I know it sounds weird to "dismantle" a stag or zombie dog, but it certainly sounds no worse than "harvesting" one, whereas "dismantling" fits almost everything except for harvesting a tree.
 • I respectfully request that we redefine Block Durability as of A13. Currently in this Wiki, even by its own definition, Block Durability is a hypothetical factor. In A13, however, there is now a "progress bar" of sorts that appears over an object as it's being destroyed or dismantled; and I think it would be much more useful to define the maximum number in that progress bar as "Durability". Note that this would also bring the definition of Block Durability more in line with the definition of Usable Items Durability directly above it.

cars[]

Could/Would they add fixable cars that you fix up and drive into/around zombies/map, also be able to add armor & or ram tools to it. That would be great add on to this awesome game.19062scott (talk) 11:28, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Yes, it has been stated on the forum, after a smooth surface area is implemented they will try to make driveable vehicles. — SyphonA1 (talk)

questions and suggestions[]

Questions:

 • Will you be adding more buildings/content/things to explore so that the maps will not be so sparse?
 • Are there any plans to add non-player survivors?
 • How do you feel when players compare your game to Minecraft?

Suggestions:

 • I know the game is called 7 Days to Die, but instead of a horde that targets you, there should be roaming hordes that gives you a chance to either outrun, fight, or sidestep. And they should be more frequent than just every 7 days. Maybe make the 7-day horde a special horde that you have to fight, and the others you call.
 • The game really needs some realism. Nobody ever stays up all night. They need sleep. Lack of sleep should be tied to stamina. Min. 4 hrs or so of sleep required or stamina is affected (suggestion).
 • Please change the hunger/thirst sounds to something a little less urgent
 • Extend the amount of time in between feeding/drinking
 • Add in something that allows the user to speed up time while in game
 • Please try and change the way bridges collapse when going across them
Please note we are the official Wiki not the game developers, all questions regarding game development and suggestions for features should be directed to the game developers. There are areas on the official 7 days to die website forum where these type of queries can be posted, head over to http://7daystodie.com/forums/.

new pages/varibles[]

When you add a new page or variable does it take time for everything to get updated, or are changes immediately apparent? Specifically, when dpl does a search, are new items immediately found, or do they need some time for the server to update info or something like that?

BTW, I tidied up this page a little, it almost hurt to try to read. :)
