Shotgun Shells are an Ammunition type. They are found around the map and can be crafted using the items shown in the crafting menu below. Shotgun Shells are found commonly around the map.
Note: Despite being named "Shotgun Shell" each shell was actually an eight shot magazine usable in all shotguns, but are now separate shells as of Alpha 6.
(Alpha 7.9) - Shotgun shells are extremely efficient with gunpowder supplies and are the most useful ammo when brass is unavailable. They require very high amounts of lead to craft, as one Lead Ingot will make 8 buckshot for shells. Lead is fairly rare on the surface, so mining for lead is recommended to craft shells.
