Description[edit | edit source]
A Fireaxe is a Wood harvesting tool that can be found throughout the world in 7 Days to Die. It can be crafted using the correct items and is easy to craft, but with the recipe requiring Forged Iron you will need a Forge before you can make it. Working Stiffs Crates sometimes contain a Fireaxe.
As of Alpha 13, Durability is based on the tool's quality. It will degrade until Durability reaches 0, and will then cease functioning until repaired. The Fireaxe is a great tool for Wood based blocks, but not near as effective against metal, dirt or stone. It cannot be dismantled, but it can be scrapped, melted in a Forge and burnt as a source of Combustible fuel. As a weapon it is used at close range and does not require any Ammunition.
Uses[edit | edit source]
As a Tool[edit | edit source]
When used as a tool a Fireaxe is especially suited to the felling of trees, which in turn allows you to gather the Wood that are dropped when a tree is chopped down. It is also effective when used to destroy wood based blocks. As it is the appropriate tool for wood based blocks it will be more efficient to use than other tools, with the exception of the Chainsaw. A Fireaxe is capable of destroying blocks up to five blocks away
As a Weapon[edit | edit source]
During combat a Fireaxe is a reasonably effective short range weapon and can kill an average Zombie with three direct hits to the head or five hits or more to the body. It is more effective against one or two Zombies and will not be very effective when dealing with a group of several Zombies at close quarters. It can be used quite effectively against single zombies when combined with the stealth of crouching to launch a sneak attack.
Crafting[edit | edit source]
Required Items[edit | edit source]
Crafting Recipe[edit | edit source]
To Craft just click on any of the ingredients and select craft> Fireaxe , or search for it in your Crafting window search bar.
Repair[edit | edit source]
The condition of a Fireaxe deteriorates with each use until eventually it will no longer work, before this happens it can be repaired. This can be done using Forged Iron which will restore the durability. As of Alpha 13, if you are low level and repair your high level Fireaxe it deteriorates the quality closer to your level instead of the tools. For example, if your tool crafting skill is level 10 and you repair a 600 quality Fireaxe, its quality will decrease by a certain percentage with each repair.
Scrapping[edit | edit source]
A Fireaxe can be scrapped by clicking on the Fireaxe and selecting "Scrap". This will allow you to craft Scrap Iron.
- The effectiveness of chopping depends on your stamina and condition of the weapon. The higher your stamina and condition of your Fireaxe, the more resources that you will harvest with each swing.
